5 Healthy Recipes You Can Make with Peppermint Mocha Shakeology

Each year Beachbody releases two holiday limited-edition flavors, Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Mocha.

This post is all about peppermint mocha. It’s fantastic having a shake that captures the essence of the holidays: rich coffee mixed with creamy chocolate and the delightful coolness of Christmas candy cane.


You can definitely drink your Peppermint Mocha Shakeology according to the directions on the package. Add water to a shaker bottle, dump in the packet of Shakeology, and shake. That’s good.

Even better, level up by swapping the water with whole or 2% milk (or your favorite non-dairy milk) for a creamier shake.

Toss in a handful of ice, use a blender and blend for a traditional shake experience. Oh so good.

1 - Peppermint Mocha Shakeology Martini

Is there any better Christmas gift than a healthy cocktail? I think not.

This recipe uses one packet of Peppermint Mocha Shakeology, almond milk, dark chocolate, a peppermint candy, and vodka.

I love the idea of swapping this healthier cocktail for my nighttime glass of wine. It only has 227 calories AND it's packed with nutrition.

2 - Peppermint Mocha Shakeology Cannoli Cups

My Italian grandma made the most AMAZING cannolis! I don't know how my she would feel about this cannoli-ish tasting recipe, but I'm sure she would appreciate a healthier holiday dessert.

These Cannoli Cups are also waaaaay less labor-intense than making traditional cannolis.

This recipe uses phyllo dough to create a crunchy shell and Peppermint Mocha Shakeology blended with a creamy ricotta cheese mixture. One packet of Peppermint Mocha Shakeology makes 12 individual serving so you can definitely share with family and friends.

4 - Peppermint Mocha Shakeology Mini Vegan Cheesecakes

You won't miss the dairy in these vegan mini cheesecakes.  They are made in muffin tins for cute individual servings and have a yummy graham cracker crust and deliciously dairy-free cheesecake filling. Enjoy this holiday-inspired treat totally guilt-free.

5 - Peppermint Mocha Shakeology Protein Bites

This recipe uses the Shakeology plus almond and coconut flours, coconut, dark chocolate chips and almond butter to create a tasty bite-sized treat.

I have made lots of protein bites recipes before (like this yummy Protein Peanut Butter Balls recipe ) so I definitely recommend them as a quick and healthy sweet snack.

What to do if you can’t find Peppermint Mocha Shakeology…

You have a few options if Peppermint Mocha Shakeology is already sold out for the season.

Substitute any flavor Shakeology for peppermint mocha.

You will have a different flavor experience, but still a delicious end product. Chocolate, Cafe Mocha, and Vanilla work particularly well for these recipes.

Substitute another flavor Shakeology AND add ingredients to mimic the taste of peppermint mocha.

Here are a few suggestions. Each of the amounts would apply to one packet of Peppermint Mocha Shakeology:

  • Vanilla Shakeology plus 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules, and 1/4 teaspoon pure peppermint extract.

  • Chocolate Shakeology plus 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules and 1/4 teaspoon pure peppermint extract.

  • Cafe Latte Shakeology plus 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1/4 teaspoon pure peppermint extract.

Use a different brand protein powder in vanilla, mocha or chocolate and make similar additions recommended above.

I have used and recommend Syntha-6 Protein Powder and Gold Standard Protein Powder.

Orgain Protein Powder and Superfoods is a good choice for a vegan protein.

Use a different brand of peppermint mocha protein powder or nutrition shake mix.

I’ve only found a few online, but these could potentially be substituted for Peppermint Mocha Shakeology in these recipes. In general Shakeology is mixed with 8 ounces water for a shake. Use the equivalent amount of scoops that would make an 8 ounce serving.

  • Amazing Grass Protein Superfood Vegan Nutrition Shake in Chocolate Peppermint 

    One scoop has 130 calories, 3g fat, 6g carbs, 3g fiber, and 20g protein. Currently a 10-serving tub is $28.99 on Amazon so it's a very reasonable 2.89 per serving

  • Paleo Protein Peppermint Mocha Protein Powder 

    This protein powder is gluten, dairy, and sugar-free, and sourced from non-GMO, hormone- and antibiotic-free, grass-fed beef. It's a perfect choice if you follow an AIP/autoimmune protocol, keto or Paleo diet. I personally like this protein powder because I try to include bone broth in my diet almost every day, but you'd never know it from the peppermint, hot chocolate and mocha flavor.

Peppermint Mocha Shakeology comes around only once a year, so definitely grab a few boxes so you can make some of these healthy and delicious treats. If you can’t find Shakeology, try one of the substitutes above.
